Do you think you’ve achieved star status?
I am no one to decide that. I think it’s the audience who decides that. I am just an actor and my job is to keep my audience entertained. Therefore, I’m not the right person to answer that.
What about RK’s character do you love and hate most?
There’s nothing to hate; I love it all. It’s a very different character on TV so far. The best part about RK is his unpredictability. What he will do, even he doesn’t know. His spontaneity is what I love.
Is it true that you lost about 14 kilos for this role?
I was a big fat ass! I weighed about 98 kg before; now I am about 84 kg. I still have to lose a few more kilos.
What is your fitness regime?
I just follow a healthy diet, which includes six meals a day. I eat small portions and I do not skip rice, ‘ coz that’s my favourite.
Do long working hours take a toll on your relationship with Vahbbiz?
No, not at all. I work for 12 hours and the rest of the time is dedicated to her.
Was it love at first sight for you and Vahbbiz?
We had a shoot in Panchgani; our relationship started when we came back from that. It was very spontaneous.
Is Vahbbiz okay with your intimate scenes with Drashti Dhami?
Forget Vahbbiz, even I am not okay about getting intimate with my co-star. There’s a thin line between romance and getting intimate. I know my limit and know where to draw the line. I won’t even kiss onscreen and I definitely won’t do any consummation scenes either.
Do you think you’ve grown as an actor?
Yes, I think I have. I learn every day of my life. I have never had any schooling in acting; whatever I’ve learned is on the sets, while working.
So what keeps you busy besides work?
I love spending time with Vahbbiz. I love shopping – in fact, we both do. Apart from that, I like playing soccer and cooking for my friends. And I can cook everything from Indian to Italian.
Would you call Rishab Kundra a negative hero?
No, I don’t think he is a negative hero, but he has shades of grey. Everyone has a bad side and RK is brutish for a reason.
Do you think television soaps are a stepping stone to films?
No, not really. I’ve never done anything with a motive. I just go with the flow. I just believe that if I am good at my work and people like me, they will take me anywhere.
Were you ever approached for films?
I have been offered a few roles, but they never really worked out. Certain commercial films didn’t work out in time and by then I had already signed on to do Madhubala. They demanded long dates, which was not possible ‘coz I had already committed myself.
Who is your favourite film star and which is your favourite movie?
I love Salman Khan and all his movies are my favourite films.
What turns you on and off in a woman?
I like simple women who don’t wear too much make-up or jewellery. I don’t like tomboys either. She should be graceful, but not over the top. Vahbbiz is the perfect blend of a woman and a tomboy.
Is Vahbbiz planning to get back to TV shows?
Yes, she is. She has been getting several offers, but none too good. Right now, she is busy with her theatre work.
Will you work with Vahbbiz in any show?
I have been looking for a producer who would cast Vabhz and me in a show together.
One thing you like and dislike about your wife…
Vahbbiz is a Sagittarius, so she’s extremely short tempered, but the best part is that she cools down really fast too. She can’t be angry more than 20 minutes.
Madhubala or Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani?
Both shows are different. Pyaar Ki… is special ‘coz I met Vahbbiz there. That show established me and made who I am today. Madhubalais like payback.

Ace fashion designer Neeta Lulla, who has designed a maroon wedding lehenga for Drashti Dhami’s character in Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, is in awe of the popularity of the show’s lead couple
Currently the pre-wedding celebrations are going on in the show, which completed a year on May 28. While Drashti Dhami plays Madhubala, Vivian DSena is seen as RK, a film star in the drama series aired on Colors.
“It’s fantastic to be designing for such a handsome couple. She (Drashti) is very pretty and when we saw her for the first time, everybody was raving about her. She does full justice to what everybody spoke about. The way she enacts her character is simply brilliant and so is Vivian,” said the designer.
“RK is just another milestone in the history of television,” she added.
On designing outfits for a particular character, Lulla said that it is necessary to know the characters and their popularity. “Everything is driven by the character and the audience that watches the character. Of course, the dress should be made keeping in mind the charm of the character, which has already created such a big impact on the audience.”
Reportedly, Lulla will also make an entry into the show before RK and Madhubala’s D-Day and gift the wedding dress to the bride herself.

Sultan is convinced that Madhu is getting carried away by emotions and RK is not a genuine person. Madhu instead tells him that she no longer wants revenge from Rishab and loves him too much to hurt him anymore. Awww…

Drashti Dhami and Neeraj Khemka were going steady in their relationship and were apparently planning to tie the knot this year. However, we hear that the couple has decided to call it quits ‘coz of trust issues. Reportedly, Neeraj wasn’t quite comfortable with Drashti’s onscreen chemistry with her co-star Gurmeet Choudhary since her Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi days. But isn’t that a thing of the past?

The dude walked in to the RK mansion declaring that he was Mohan Kundra’s (RK’s father) legitimate son and hence had the right to stay in his house. He also brought his recently discovered mother (Zarina Wahab)
Rishab (Vivian DSena) is irked by Sultan’s outrageous statements about his father and by his proximity with his new wife Madhubala – now that’s obviously going to happen! RK worships his father and can’t bear to hear anything against him. He believes that Sultan’s demands are ludicrous and are just a way to spite him. He also secretly believes that Sultan is doing all this to get Madhu back in his life. Uhhhhh…whatever!
Madhubala, on the other hand, is in a dilemma; she supports her husband and his craziness, but has a soft corner for Sultan too. She doesn’t know the whole story of RK and Sultan‘s father, but we are sure the detective in her will bring out the truth, sooner rather than later.
We believe this new complication will create a rift between the crazy just-wed couple. And if that doesn’t happen naturally, Sultan can easily do the deed with a little wickedness attached, we know. In the upcoming episodes, Rishab and Madhu will fight over Sultan and it will not end well. The television actor, who grabbed viewers’ attention after his stint on daily soap Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon says he wants to focus on his TV show at the moment
But if he gets a chance to act in a Bollywood film, he would love to do something like Andaz Apna Apna.
“To be honest, I have not got any offers for films. My career has just started and my only focus at this time is Madhubala…, said Avinesh Rekhi while talking about his future plans.
“I love comedy films, my favourite movie is Andaz Apna Apna. I loved Aamir Khan’s character Amar in the film and would love to do something on the similar lines someday,” he added.
Seen as reticent and brooding Sultan on the show, Avinesh says that his on screen character’s traits are similar to his real life. “I am an introvert. I don’t talk much. I like staying at home when I am free, and if I am going out with friends for a party I prefer doing it either at my house or my friends’ house, basically house parties,” said Avinesh, who was earlier seen in the thriller-family drama Chhal – Sheh Aur Maat opposite actor Hunar Hali.
Talking about his character in both the shows, he admits that his characters are somewhat same in both the shows and added: “The only difference is that good Sultan had a change of heart after he got to know about the injustice done to his mother (Zarina Wahab) while Kabir, his character in Chal… changed from bad to good in the daily soap.”

Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon is forcing drama into its daily dose and so after the melodramatic wedding between Rishab Kundra (Vivian DSena) and Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) we’ve witnessed romantic moments and we liked how the love story was moving forward. But out of nowhere, Sultan (Avinesh Rekhi) is reintroduced and now as RK’s step brother – Mohan Kundra’s real son.
RK, who is shattered with this news breaks down in front of Madhu and begs her to never leave him. Sultan on the other hand, begs Madhu to leave RK and live with him. Madhu luckily is not confused in this situation; and states that her love and loyalty is only towards RK.
Rishab learns that Sultan is making advances towards his wife and decides to end it once and for all and what starts as a brawl ends up with Sultan being shot. While everyone believes that RK killed his step-brother, we smell something fishy.
Wethinks, Sultan died a little too easily and fast. For all you know, this could be a trick to separate RK and Madhu. With his enemy in jail, it will be only too easy for Sultan to kidnap Madhu and make her his own. How desperate, no?

Madhubala actor Drashti is in the limelight for all the wrong reasons
TV actor Drashti Dhami and her choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan might have managed to impress the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 6 judges but not their fellow contestants and fans. We had earlier reported that her co-contestants are miffed as they feel Drasti is favored by judges – Madhuri Dixit, Remo D’Souza and Karan Johar as she’s a part of the Colors family (Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon).
The actor also came under the scanner when viewers felt that Drashti was using skin show to garner more votes. However, Drashti’s family stands by her and feels that fans often have a fixed image about soap actors who are saree-clad on small screen. Drashti’s sister-in-law Suhasni adds, “Sadly, sometimes fans fail to see the person behind their daily soap characters. They forget that she is not Madhubala, but Drashti Dhami. They only want to see her in her reel avatar. However, there is a change in thinking as actors are now coming in reality shows where their image is totally different from their on screen avatars”
Amidst all this controversy, we wonder if Drashti bags the Jhalak trophy then it would be a win-win situation, but would her loss also mean TRP loss for Madhubala or worse loss of her die hard fans?
The case against Rishab Kundra is strong and lawyer Shivdatta Marathe (Vinay Apte) will do almost everything he can to convict the celebrity
Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon is now witnessing an interesting courtroom drama as RK (Vivan DSena) defends himself for the murder of Sultan (Avinesh Rekhi) – his step brother. The two meet on top of a cliff to end each other’s life. But Sultan accidentally gets shot and dies.
RK is arrested and the trial has begun. While it may seem obvious that RK killed Sultan to defend himself, but it takes only minutes for the case to take a 360 degree turn in the court room. First RK is denied bail, and then his character certificate is chalked out. Now we all know how that looks like since Rishab is known to be violent in nature. The lawyer puts forth pointers like how the superstar once almost killed Mukund (Manish Naggdev)- Madhu’s ex-lover while driving under the influence of alcohol. He then brings up the point that RK has no morals as he has ill-treated his wife several times, bought her for Rs 40 lakh and abandoned her more than twice. Of course, Marathe also mentions RK’s woes with alcohol and authority.
After RK’s character certificate goes down the drain; the lawyer questions him for meeting Sultan with a gun? With this, the lawyer proves that RK met Sultan with an intention of killing him, though Kundra claims it to be an act of self-defense. He states that Rishab should be charged under Section 299 of the Indian Penal Code for culpable homicide.
In defense, Madhubala’s (Drashti Dhami) lawyer claims that Madhu and RK’s relationship no matter how volatile it is cannot be a part of this case and hence should not be taken into account. As for Mukund’s accident, the case was cleared as the victim had taken complete responsibility of the mishap. The lawyer also states that RK is a celebrity and needs a gun for self protection and the cliff accident was to save himself and Madhubala from Sultan’s attack.
The whole case surely seems quite interesting and will reveal many facets of RK and Madhu’s life in the upcoming episodes. The press will have a field day with this case too, but the question still remains – will RK be charged with Sultan’s murder or will his deed be considered an act of self defense. Madhubala comes as the ‘knight in shining armour’ for Rishab (Vivian DSena). She proves that Sultan did not die and it was just a planned stunt to put RK behind bars and teach him a lesson. As soon as the court realises that Sultan is in fact alive, they dismiss the case against RK and let him go free.

Manish Naggdev was recently approached by a 32-year-old man from Chennai through a social networking site for sperm donation. “I thought about it and felt that there is nothing wrong in it. It is just a kind gesture. That is it.”
The actor feels that if people can accept the Ayushmann Khurrana’s movie, they would definitely understand his decision about donating his sperm. He feels the current generation is matured. “They have accepted a film like Vicky Donor. Everyone understands that this is normal. There will be a lot of people who would agree with me,” he said.
Of course, he had apprehensions and took one-and-a-half week to comply to the request. Manish said, “I had apprehensions. I took one-and-a-half week to think about it. If people like Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan can go for surrogacy, then what is wrong with this? If abortion is a crime, then giving life is a good deed, right?”

Hilarious and very charming is what we thought he was!
King Khan also made an appearance for Colors TV’s popular daily soap Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, where he danced with Rishab Kundra and Madhubala, and celebrated Eid with them. He took the role of a quiz master in Diya Aur Baati Hum’s contest – Sabse Bada Champion. He congratulated Suraj and Sandhya Rathi for being an ideal couple. Shahrukh has also shot a special episode playing garba with the family of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. And if that was not enough, the actor was seen on Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma. After the first episode became a hit and a viral success, SRK dared to make a second appearance with Rohit Shetty. The actor and director had a blast with Kapil Sharma and managed to leave everyone in giggles. Clearly Mr Khan is on a roll promoting Chennai Express. Besides promoting for products, movie collaborations and appearances, the actor somehow managed to pull off all these eight shows with complete enthusiasm and energy and that too with an injured shoulder. Sultan has stooped to a new low to get Madhu in his life, but will he succeed?
Sultan (Avinesh Rekhi) has threatened to kill Rishab Kundra (Vivian DSena) if Madhubala (Drashti Dhami) does not divorce him. Initially she opposed the idea and asked Sultan to go to hell, but when he acted on his threats, Madhu had to agree. So now the track is, after spending a romantic night under the stars, the couple is forced to split as RK’s bail gets cancelled. Madhu meets her hubby in prison and tells him that she wants a divorce. Heartbroken and angry RK yells and calls her names, but finally agrees to sign on the dotted line.
Both RK and Madhu are in tears, while their respective families are shell shocked. Sultan on the other hand is rejoicing his victory. Everything is going according to his plan – or so he believes, but we smell something fishy. RK signs the paper too easily and Madhu gives up too fast. Wethinks, this is just a smart and well-crafted plan by the couple to expose Sultan in the open. Once Sultan’s side is exposed, Madhu and RK will reunite.
However, if the divorce is not fake and they do separate, we as fans are going to be quite upset. Rishabala will be miserable without each other and the viewers without them. One thing we know for sure is that Madhu will never love Sultan as long as RK is alive, but what if the baddie kills our hero?
